Notes: The plan was for me to run with Mitch and Eric... just have fun, take pics, and chill. But those doofuses didn’t make it in time! So I decided to run comfortably hard. I did not taper, I had been sick, my diet had been weak, and my sleep had been horrible... but I had so. much. fun. It POURED rain, and that’s my kinda weather. Someone handed me a flag at the Mile 2 marker, and I waved that sucker vigorously and often! I saw some friends, and I made some new ones. Frank gave me a hug at the bricks! The headwind was strong on the way back, but that just made my flag fly more brilliantly. I smiled the whole time. Mom was waiting at Mile 13, and I waved my flag like crazy over the finish line. I didn’t look at my watch once, and I ran the most consistent half of my life. Luckily, I caught up with Mitch and Eric afterward. What a great day. What a great race. What a great city!
