Notes: Mini Day is hands-down my FAVORITE day of the year. It represents celebration, goal-realization, and the culmination of months of hard work. In 2013, it was extra special since I missed the 2012 race because of a broken leg. Mom and I traveled to Indy the night before the Mini to stay at the JW Marriott, visit the Race Expo, and hang with friends. Race day was chilly and windy. I was ready to set a PR; but alas, I had a very hard race, and a PR was not in the stars. However, about two-thirds of the way through the race, I set a revised goal to break two hours, which I did, with a 1:58:55. So many friends (and BMS students!) had fun, successful races, and celebrating with them was a great part of the day. Mini, I’ll love you forever.
