Weather: 45°, wind calm, cloudy Notes: I love French Lick/West Baden, and I love to run; so it’s no surprise that I love to run the French Lick Resort 5K in the fall. It was PERFECT weather for a race. Strangely, I wasn’t nervous at all. I wasn’t going to try to PR, just enjoy some speed. However, after a 7:32 first mile, I just *had* to go for it. With the exception of a surprise hill (with an undefined slope, I’m pretty sure), on the new course, everything went smoothly, and I finished in 23:29, a new PR at a 7:35 pace. I won my division (26-33, which was kind of weird), and was the fifth female. All folks there from Lawrence County got medals. It was a wonderful morning, and I’m thrilled that Ed, Mom, and Dad got to share it with me. Photos: 13 — See below. |
