Notes: The week before this race, I was so sick with a Crohn's flare-up that I was certain I would miss it. I had been on a mostly liquid diet since Tuesday, too. My doctor mended me right up, and I was able to run. I was sad to be going alone because all my friends were busy, but just chillin' on the trail alone ended up being good medicine. I also found some nice folks to run with here and there. I wish I could adequately describe the hills... you can put your hands a couple feet in front of you and touch ground. There is a series of three climbs like that, and the declines are as difficult as the ascents. However, I enjoy it for some reason. :-) I ran fast when I could, but mostly just enjoyed myself. The best part was meeting a woman who owns property in Bedford. We ran together for awhile, and she was good company. She thought we were at the finish line at the Mile 8 water station, and she was disappointed to learn there were two miles to go. :-)
