Notes: Larry was itching to run one more fall trail race, so Becky and I joined him on the trip to Prospect, Kentucky. At the start, I was literally the only person in a T-shirt and shorts. Normally, I can't stand it when someone is at the start line in skivvies, bragging about how he/she is not cold. But I wasn't cold. People all around me were bundled up and shivering, but I felt fine. The course started with a flat grass kilo that ended with a good hill. The rest of the loop was trail. It was technical and very muddy. I was careful, but let it fly on the flat, safer parts. I ran the first 5K loop in 33:40, and the second in 32:33. Also, I passed 10 people on the second loop and no one passed me. Also, I didn't walk any hills. For a race for which I had no expectations, I was pretty pleased with the results. We all got little wooden "medals" for our Top 10s, and Becky got a birdhouse for finishing third. We capped off the trip with a lunch date with Twin Caves Racing member Jocelyn, who lives near where the race took place. Also, we got TCR decals! :D
