Notes: Wendy and I decided to run this race together as a training run. She ran the full and I ran the half, so we were able to run together for 9.6 miles until the courses split. Mom came to cheer for us, and was our Designated Stuff Holder. We started slow, but picked up the pace a little each mile. The only thing that annoyed us was the sun, which was right in our eyes during the southern leg of the course. I cried when we split. After that, I realized I could break two hours if I picked up the pace a little, so that I did. It is amazing to me that it used to be my heart's desire to run a sub-2, and now I can do it as a training run. Wendy told me not to finish doing "tiny T-Rex arms," a memory from our Red Eye Relay, so that's what I had to do. Mom was sitting right on the finish line. I finished the half in 1:58:18, and Wendy finished the full in 3:58:18. Wendy's husband Tim paced our friend Becky to a fourth place finish!
