Notes: I was in a terrible frame of mind during the first half of this race. The cold, the rain, the wind, the wait at the start, distractions, the slick spots... I was feeling really negative. I didn't want to race, either, but *someone* was pushing the pace. :-) I switched up my mindset around the halfway point, and that helped. Tim and I were fifth and sixth, third and third in our gender groups. Afterwards, I sat in a robe with all my clothes in the dryer, getting ready for round two. We headed to Fairfax for a fun run within an hour.
