Notes: This race was one of the strangest races of my life. I started fast (8:45s), but it felt comfortable. It seemed silly to slow down when I felt like I could maintain that pace for the entire race. For four miles, I felt fine, *and* I was leading the women. On the fifth mile, *WHAM*. I was hit with a tightness in my chest. The next two miles were rough, but the final three miles were nearly impossible. Though I slowed greatly, I fought as hard as I could to finish the race. At the top of each small hill, I started becoming disoriented. I finished with the help of friends, and managed a PR. My health was not great after the race, so I visited the hospital to get back to normal. Unfortunately, Dad didn't get to finish because there was a hail storm and because his daughter was in the ER.
