Notes: What a race! I spent the night before the race having stress dreams of failure, such as forgetting to wear my shoes to the start line. I think the stress of the 10K caused me to be a little apprehensive. However, I had nothing to worry about. Though I went out a little quickly (8:46 on the first mile), I settled into a rhythm after that. My friend Bob Warnick joined me around Mile Marker 4, and we ran the rest of the race together, motivating and encouraging each other. The rain began around Mile Marker 5, a drizzle at first, and a downright deluge for the last two or three miles. With Bob's encouragement, the hills didn't feel as long or as steep, and I finished feeling strong. Dad and my friend Gordon got a little mixed up on the course and ended up walking a little farther than necessary, but they finished in 2:24:23.
