Notes: When this race was held, I was beginning Month #5 of dealing with my broken leg. I was frustrated to say the least, but still volunteered so I could cheer on my friends. I directed runners and traffic just beyond the Mile 1 marker. It was so humid that I got hot and sweaty just standing there; I can't imagine what it felt like for the runners. There were hundreds of sponges in a bucket of water at the finish line, and the finishers each took one to use for a cool-down.
