Notes: I love the Shamrock Run. It's fun to see everyone dressed in green, and some in costume. The 2008 race was 1 mile shorter than the 2007 race. I was glad about this change, because I was still nursing a sore left leg. (It was a fractured fibula, but I didn't know it at the time.) My parents and I joined Jimmy and the guys for a caravan up to Monument Circle in Indy. My race number was 16, which I thought was pretty cool since there were nearly 1,000 people registered. (I think mine was so low because I registered in December.) I knew I would PR since I'd never run an "official" 4-mile course, but it was still exciting. Because I missed every mile marker except for #3, my splits were a bit ambiguous. I was too busy having fun cheering on the guys as they passed me on the return trip up Virginia Ave. Unfortunately, I grabbed some Red Bull to drink after the race, which horribly affected the ol' Crohn's. It sounded good at the time though! Two of the best parts about the race were clothing-related: I learned I hadn't been wearing my new Adidas pants backwards after all, and Jon made us all laugh with his choice of T-shirt.
