Weather: 30°, snowing Notes: I was excited to start my 2008 Mini training with the Reindeer Romp at Crane. Jimmy invited all Let's Go participants to be a part of it. Itching to get back on the racing scene, I said yes. When I woke up that morning, huge flakes of snow were falling fast. I drove to Jimmy's to hitch a ride with him. Jon and Tim came along too. It took forever to get there because of the roads; but we made it, unlike lots of others who had signed up. My goal was to break 30, so I donned my Santa hat and ran it with 10 seconds to spare. The whole time I was running, I was laughing about how crazy it was to be running on the ice and snow. I was nearly dead last, so I kept sliding around in everyone else's footprints. We all enjoyed pancakes and sausage for breakfast, then piled back into Jimmy's car with a good race story to share. Photos: 4 — See below. |
