Notes: I was terrified of this race course because it was so hilly. This was my first Mag7 race, and I was itching to post a good time. I put together two sub-9 miles to begin. The last mile is the hilliest, and I was starting to wear out. The guy behind me kept saying things like, "You gonna let this old man pass you?" "Don't let this hill get you, now. Stay strong." I followed his advice, and finished with a PR and a sub-9 pace. I did, however, let him pass me. As soon as the race was over, it absolutely poured. Ed, Mom, and I stuck around for the raffle afterwards, and I won a keychain shaped like an Asics running shoe.
